Many Americans complain that they spend way too much precious time of their lives at red traffic lights. And like me, they just happen to turn red upon just approaching them. Then comes the wait....

It can be long.

Really long.

Especially here in Boston.

*Always* in the direction you happen to be travelling in.

Every time. When you're late for work. Or for an important meeting. Doctors' appointment. Hot date. You are starving and your takeout is ready. Freshly discovered threadless waiting for your personal viewing from a Craiglist garage sale or a Buy-It-Now eBay listing. And so forth. You get the beat....

Don't you hate that?

This is what finally happened to a particular traffic light that always seemed to be red every time I drove up in line to it.

I always wondered if one of these sinfully dreaded lights would ever meltdown and/or overheat from the hot bulb seemingly forever being on in the "red mode" most of the time.
