These are two hydroelectric plants that, even though they're less than an hour away, I had never been there. I guess because it's not on the way to anything and requires specific time and interest to go there. Coming back from a business jaunt from the north end of the Lower Peninsula I decided I'd check the area out.

Here's a bit of historical information. I had heard the Croton dam was on the cutting edge when it was built, but I didn't know anything specific. I also had no idea that Grand Rapids (where I work) was the first place to demonstrate water-generated electric power in a practical manner.
