This is an older likely 1950's vintage residential 120 volt service meter. The homeowner decided to resurface the exterior residence with a combination of cement and gravel. Kind of a lap and plaster exterior re coating. Anyway we just cut the service wires and wired in an upgraded time of use meter. The old obsolete meter will be here until the house is torn down or falls down some time in the future. What ever works is my motto! Close up view to follow.

UPDATE: David Dahle has been kind enough to date this old meter as a Sangamo 1928-1934. Maybe I should return with my trusty crowbar and rescue it for posterity?
