I finally did some repair work to this (one of a kind) Fred Locke piece I acquired from this spring 's digging in the Victor area ... I still need to add paint to the repaired chips but I am still VERY happy to have this piece in my collection even as is! I firmly believe there was once a line of these somewhere in the US ... I have seen an old photo from Michigan of a small town with a double crossarm line of insulators that looked like these and another photo of a line built on tripartite towers at an unknown location with insulators that almost unmistakably look like these[id=255825445]... so why have no others been found thus far?

The top of this piece was made in a two part mold which dates it to the years 1902-03. the piece has a faint # 6-1 marking which corresponds to the two part mold stile Judging by the look of the land and flora in the background I'd say this linked photo was in the upper Midwest some place... ??? PLEASE ... someone out there find a dump full of these and you will make allot of people VERY happy! [id=197203774] to see some other views of this insulator in brown glaze... Interestingly the only U-932 specimen in brown that did not originate in the Victor N.Y. area was found in Michigan!
