The tap pole for the transformer pole in the previous pix. The Western Railway Museum buys power from Pacific Gas & Electric at the property line. PG&E has a transformer pole that steps the power down from 12kV 3 phase to 2.4 kV 3 phase. The wires in the foreground are 1500 volt DC overhead to run the electric powered trains. For more info about the museum, go to www.wrm.org Definately an interesting place with a 10 mile round trip train ride!
