Actually I have several questions here. Please answer any you can. Answering them all isn't a must. Thanks. But first a background of why my main question of color is being asked. A month or so ago I visited an antique bottle shop that had also a bunch of insulators. I did purchase a few and would have purchased a Hemingray CD 128 and a Hemingray CD 129. They were both a dark brown amber color. Prior to spoting these two insulators I had been watching a CD 129 on eBay that was the same color. When I returned without buying the two I saw at the antique store I searched eBay to see if I could find trhe one I saw that was listed there by the seller for months. Needless to say I couldn't find. I do recall the seller was asking a substantial amount for his/hers being it was said to be rare. At the time I first saw the listing I looked the CD# up in PG. No amber colors at all were listed regardless of the maker. So now I guess you've guessed my first question or two. Question #1 : Are there unlisted amber colored CD 127's or CD 128's or have the ones I've seen been altered? Question #2 : If they have been altered how would the color have been changed from a clear or what other actual colors that are listed in the PG have been accomplished (Mind you, I have no wish to alter any myself) Question #3 : If these amber colored insulators a for real what is there value? The antique store was asking $40 each and if I recall the seller on eBay was asking much, much, much more. Question #4 : What movie was this pic borrowed from? (find the answer below at bottom of this page) Question #5 : What CD# is the black power insulator at the top of the pole? Question #6 : What happened to the Insulator in Movies photo album. I went through the list and couldn't find it. Answer to question #4 I borrowed this pic from a movie I was watching yesterday that I streamed in fron Net Flicks. It seemed like fate was going to see that I asked the question that has been on my mind for some time. Besides being an insulator buff I've been a fan of Stephen King for years as well. I've read just about every word he has ever put into print and have been reading a few lately for the second time. Anyhow, back to yesterday, I did a search of Stephen King movies that were available on Net Flicks. A total of eigth were given. The first I watched was 'The Stand', which is the answer of question #4. Don't no no if you noticed but the two insulators are on the crossarm but not in service. The lines were cut. Leaves be to wonder whether the scene was real or staged. It was supposed to be someplace in Arizona I believe. The crow was actually the eyes of the Dark One in the story and is real. Maybe the crow was trained, maybe not. Any guesses about that? |
