I am trying to determine the countries of origin of these 3 insulators. The 2 bee hive's on the right are just about the same size as CD 145's, while the 3 rd insulator could be impressed either A.U.P or A.V.P... Click view original for better detail It is crude in appearance, and the glaze is a bit rough Any help in identifying these 3 would be appreciated Caleb Thimell replied; The two beehive porcelain insulators on the right in your photo appear to be replicas of examples known to have been found in Brazil and Portugal. Are the inner skirts threaded? Yes they are .The only country that's produced porcelain insulators in this style that I'm aware of is Brazil. The AUP insulator resembles examples I've seen originating from Australia. Even the black specks in the glaze fits the profile of earlier Australian examples recovered there. I do not know the manufacturer of any of your examples at this time. Best guess at this time is that the insulators are manufactured in Australia Caleb Thimell |
