U-695 NN Thomas in Cobalt Blue

Yes, this is a U-695 in cobalt! Lo and behold my surprise when I measured this piece at 7 x 4 1/2"! According to Elton's book, U-694 is known in cobalt, but not the larger U-695. This old-timer is in excellent condition and has a beautifully mottled glaze in spots. This was an E-bay purchase from the collector who I bought it from and I'd be very curious to know what and where these beautiful insulators were originally used.

Update: Joe Maurath writes:

It is my understanding that Larry Veneziano from IL liberated about 10 or 12 of these from an old steel mill in Indiana back in the mid 1980s. And I believe that is all there is of these in the hobby."

I've heard from several collectors who have these pieces in the their collections and it seems they range in size of umbrella width quite a bit.
