Sorry for the bad picture - coulda sworn I had taken a duplicate shot. An EF1 tornado was spawned out of the storm that raked across eastern SD / southern MN on 7/1/11 and hit this town, leaving this line in bad shape (but apparently still live). The line saw temporary repairs that consisted of stubbing a few poles and straightening / re-filling the pole holes on others. At the time I got this picture, the line was 7200V delta over 23.9kV; the company has long since moved the 7200V source further north and rebuilt this section to eliminate the 7200V arm. |
