I camped out @Steve Blair's house for a few days and replaced the transmission in his 72 convertible superbeatle . The old trans had a bad input shaft pilot bearing that had thrown metal shavings throughout the gearbox l... basicly making a big mess out of the whole unit . The old oil I drained out was NASTY!! in another life I am and was a serious air cooled VW mechanic and still love working on them so here is a point where two hobbies overlap! on my left finger is the bottom skirt to a M-2332 Fred Locke that I found the day before on a nearby interurban RR line rout and a hemi40 that I collected as a give away for a friend to use as garden art.
