On the way back from our tornado trip, we decided to "decompress" our emotions with an antique and junk indoor flea market shopping break. I found this 1950s or early 1960s Voice of Misic stereo console in the far back bowels of the building. It is in amazingly clean condition, and since there wasn't enough room in the crowded van, I will head back there on Saturday and "stake my claim". For this unit, and its excellent condition, the price is a downright bargain, and I can probably haggle it down to even less.

$50 was the agreed on price, and I was very pleased with that!

This is the view of the innards, with the 6L6GC power amplifier, and some of the speakers. What impressed me was there were not the usual colelction of dead bugs, mouse droppings, and other undesirable flotsam and jetsam inside the unit. Just a bit of dust.

For the few other "tubeheads" out there, this chassis carries two 12AX7s, four 6L6GCs and a 5U4GB rectifier, all original vintage, no cheaper modern manufacture imported replacement parts.. There are two sets of midrange and tweeters and thelarger woofer in the center. These are alnico magnet speakers, which had very good sound in their day, and are still considered to be quite desirable, even fifty years after the fact.
