This is a treat! I received all the tower hardware and copper conductor from the linemen at LADWP as a gift for training them all last month. See the training at http://www.ropesthatrescue.com/linemen-rope-rescue-1.htm The copper conductor is tongue and groove hollow with 10 segments. The Stockbridge dampers are all brass at the clamp to prevent electrolysis. So is the clamp in the shoe which cannot be seen in the photo. The conductor is called the "Heddernheim" which was a German developer. It is nicknamed the "H&H". Energized in 1935. H&H was produced in the USA by General Cable in LA to German specs. Voltage was 287kv, an engineering breakthrough for that day. Diameter is 1.4". Weight is 1.56# per foot. Note the corona free hardware on the "hot" side and the bird guard corona arc gap on the "cold" side. There are three of these lines that went from Hoover Dam to LA. Much was upgraded to 500kv in the 70's. But some of this H&H is still in the air. The carnival glass suspensions are not original. The original lines used a bunch of ugly OB brown suspensions from 33' vintage. I elected to add some beauty to this display in my basement where my collection resides. Enjoy!
