Normally, I don't pick up Pierces but a U-189 is an exception.

At least two of these (only one on the pin) came to the Yankee Pole Cat show in Enfield today. This style is especially interesting to me as this design was patented by two fellow Nutmeggers, R.A. Manwaring and J.T. Hessel of New Haven, CT on May 18, 1915. To top it all of, this piece was pulled from service from the Metro North line servicing the CT shoreline and New York City.
