On the left is a CD 133.1 [015] PAT APP FOR with a large 3. on the back. This is not one of those wishy washy blues that get washed out backlit but is a super rich dark Brooke's blue. I have seen and owned a number of these over the years and this is just about as dark and rich of a blue as they come. There is a little bit of milk up over the pinhole and down through the dome and skirt on the back. The color won't disappoint you. Condition is really tops too. A day 1 lehr kiss above the R in FOR, a little bit of wire groove wear on the back and a little 1 inch just below the surface annealing line crossing the mold line. Price $86.66 plus actual shipping. Sold for $75. On the right is a CD 133 [230] Brookfield. This exact embossing comes in shop numbers 1-6. The #2 mold is the most difficult in the 1-6 series. Each number 2-6 came in 2 different molds. There are several more molds of the #1 shop number and some of the #1 molds were reworked a few times over the years adding ER to the front skirt and 2 additional patent dates on the rear skirt. The glass on these is usually a nice clean aqua so the amber swirls with the light fizz throughout is a nice bonus. All the embossing is readable. Embossed W. BROOKFIELD / Large shop number 2 / 55 FULTON ST / N.Y. Back CAUVET'S / PAT / JULY 25, 1865 ONLY. No other dates. A small little flake on the base and a minor blemish to the skirt in the front. Nice heavy glass and about as nice as these old early threaded beauties get. Price $36.66 plus actual shipping. Sold for $35. |
