Received some Aussie insulators and spools the other day. There were several spool types including these two " Made in Occupied Japan " units, and have a look, the one on the right is mis-spelled. It reads " Occupido " The spool measures 2 7/8 across the top, 2 5/8 across the bottom, and is 2 1/2 inches high with a 3/4 inch pinhole. I did a quick check with folks in Australia, and this spelling error is not recorded [yet] Up until yesterday, these Shofu 1951 produced spools were just another interesting piece of the MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN group of insulators used in Australia. That was until today. Check out Part II to see what I found today. I still don't believe it. |
