A interesting ice sickle that grew to 6 feet long and the next day it was fifty degrees, so it was gooooonnnee..This was on the west side of the home...I always get ice dams on this side and I installed electrical heat tape to help with the problem. It seems to help and I also have ice barrier under the shingles. With the eves so short, The snow melts under the snow, the water runs on the top of the shingles and when it hits the short eves it freezes. There are vents under the eves and freezes so soon after that. Enjoy
