Another photo taken in 1944 by Ed Belknap, a trolley motorman from Indiana then working in Oregon. (now deceased). This shows the overhead wire maintenance crew working on some downed lines of the Portland Electric Power Co . interurban line near Gresham, Oregon. The work car 1058 was originally a passenger trolley that was converted to a work car in 1929. The platform was cranked up manually to the desired work height. This car is barely surviving today, rotting in the woods in Washington state.

For you multipart insulator enthusiasts like me. the little 2 part multi's on the top crossarm of the line to the left are, yes indeed, blue-gray glazed Victor M-2618A's...now worth $200+ a piece to collectors!

This will be the last streetcar photo for a while, I am turning it back to the 'big train' guys! But don't forget that these ran on rails also!
