The shop foreman and master mechanic, Roy Reinke of the Portland Electric Power Co. interurban trolley lines stands in front of jinx car 4005. He may be satisfied with the results of the 1944 test run in the previous photo since he is smiling. There was always a joke about Roy Reinke and others that did this kind of work. That it was rare to see him outside the car since they spent most of their time under them! I knew him since when I was a youngster, my friend Jon Busch and I would go see the superintendant and were allowed to run loose around the facility, playing in the streetcars and pestering Mr. Reinke! He would peer out from under a car with grease all over him and say, "Oh it's you two!" then give us something to get us out of there! I still have a real nice brass air whistle today that he gave me. I remember taking it to the local gas station and driving everybody nuts with it hooked to the air hose for tires!
