Last month the power pole in my back yard was replaced. The linemen brought a tool they called the "gator" to dig the hole and place the pole. At about 12 inches they hit something the gator could not handle and much to my amazement broke out two specially designed shovels about 10 feet long. One had a special tip to bust ground, the other a kind of scoop to remove dirt. Everyone took turns, even the crew boss was on the shovels, about 3 hours latter they had a hole they could use.
