One of the other "things" had some type of rubber like seal on the bottom. Also has a piece that appears to work like a switch(?). What is this? (answer) Hi You may have been told already but just in case, your item is a high voltage power line fuse cutout box. The hanger sits over a wooden cross arm on the power pole and the fuse protects other power lines or a transformer connected to it. This one is missing the fuse wire tube door which mounts on the front and can be pulled down to disconnect or when the power surge blows the fuse. It dates in the 1930 to 1960 range.
