How To Buck Sky Yuk

I turn them brown by making...Paintsulators! As you can see in this photo, I use DecoArt craft paint. The gloss enamel is specially made to paint glass or ceramics and after air drying for 48 hours can be baked on. The result is a strong glossy finish that I can't even scratch off. They come in inexpensive 2 oz. bottles available at most craft stores and after cleaning with alcohol, you brush the water base acrylic paint on a first coat, let dry and then apply second coat. I have used black, chocolate brown, and burnt sienna. Notice the burnt sienna one in this photo almost simulates a Lapp pumpkin orange piece. By mixing black and burnt sienna I can get a nice looking dark brown. It is void of the red overtones common on many brown porcelain glaze colors but when it's 40 feet up on a pole, who cares?
