I am in the process of supplying hundreds of brown insulators for use on a large demonstration power line here on the west coast. Some of the insulators must represent types used on a 22,000 volt power line of the past. This would then be small 2 skirt multiparts or uniparts with 7 to 9 inch tops for the line. I have been able to gather up a certain amount of them in brown glaze but If I had to wait long enough to get enough of those in brown I may be 90 years old! This type in brown fell out of general use in the 1960's! This is one of a couple of types that have retained the same basic shape since the 1910's.

On the other hand, I can get a large amount in the modern sky-tone blue-gray 'yuk'. This would be the U-880-A, a 27 kV rated unipart, also known as the ANSI- 56-1 or the 1027. as shown here.

But they have to be brown! So, what to do? To see what to do, Click NEXT!
