I put together this home made spring link cutout just for looks. This was inspired by several great real old fuse cutouts I have seen occasionally that were mounted on pintype porcelain insulators. I had extra parts from some damaged Kearney 6485-11 cutouts (note the one hanging to the left of the lightning arrestor). It just so happened that the top cap with the u-bolts fit on the tie head of a U-670 that I had (commonly called 'Ballerina's b/c of the skirt shape). It also so happened that the top or bottom link arms interchanged on the top cap so I was able to assemble the bottom link arm on a u-bolt cap. Then I went looking for another Ballerina for that part. Out of 5 others that I had, only 1 was small enough to just barely attach the cap to! I then attached 2 cutout L brackets together and found 2 short pins with the wooden cobs off a telephone trampo bracket and mounted them for the insulators, put a fuse link in it and voila! It would never stand up in service since it is 'cobbled together' but I like the way it looks hanging in Mill Stack Poweryard!
