or something like that. What a great way to start the day. !!!

Here I was out in the Insulator Field early this morning, Ok, it was early for me, and sitting up on "Larry the Lineman's" head is this big fat Robin. I didn't bother him at all. He seemed to realize that I belonged there, just as he did. As I attempted to get closer, the Robin began to fidget, so I just took the picture I had. I then backed away, and he began singing. I was tempted to join in, but again, I didn't want to scare the bird or my neighbours.

As I wandered around the field looking at various insulators on the display racks, I guess the Robin became curious about what I was doing. Next thing I knew, he was sitting 4 feet away from me on the top of a display. Before I could get my camera out, he flew off, and out of sight.

"Larry the Lineman" was made and given to me by Brenda and Aidan Morgan of Kelowna, B.C. He arrived 3 days before the 2009 Merritt Insulator Show. We had great fun getting "Larry" up on a pole in proper climbing pose, and with suitable climbing safety gear. Then of course, we had to give him something to climb for, so up went a couple of side pins, and a couple of Canadian tolls.

"Larry the Lineman" was a great hit with everyone during the show, that is, once he was noticed. Suddenly, there was a yell, "hey, where did you get this?", and then everyone gathered to have a better look at "Larry"

I guess today was the Robin's turn.
