I posted this pic of a Corry, PA Model Dairy gallon milk bottle: [id=290445805] I wondered if the picture on the back constituted an advertisement for cottage cheese. Being a newbie concerning milk bottles, I had seen a PA milk bottle collector site where they listed this gallon bottle such that it looked as if they were calling it a cottage cheese bottle. This graphic also appears on the reverse of the pint-sized and SOME of the quart bottles. However, since the picture does not appear on ALL of the quart bottles, my newbie mind thought all the bottles with this graphic might be cottage cheese containers. However... the main subject in this picture is of a cottage cheese container displayed in the Corry, PA museum. Since Model Dairy sold cottage cheese in these containers, and the picture on the back of the bottles is of this container, I think it is pretty safe to conclude the gallon jug (and others) are actually milk and not cottage cheese, bottles. Will I look back at these posts some day and be amazed at my naivety at this time? Probably, but that's OK - I had to start somewhere. |
