Thanks to Joe Maurath for sending me this one a while ago. Like most obsessively curious kids of the 1950s, I was drawn towards the "mysteries" lurking inside electrical outlets and lamp sockets, and felt the efects of being curious, inexperienced in the way of things electrical, and incautious.

When I was about 5 years old, our dog once chewed on a cloth-covered power cord. She learned REALLY fast, that this wasn't a good thing to do... Fortunately she lived, and became just a little bit more cautious in pursuing her explorations.
