These Patent dates are attributed to L. L. Mast of West Milton, Ohio for a method of assembling lightning conductors and attaching them to there " couplings" or "burs". "and make them of such material that the conductivity of the joints will equal the conductivity of the rod" Shown here is an actual rod with the patent embossed on to the bottom of the rod coupling. The method of attachment is called a "SWAG" The star rod is copper clad and not solid copper.
