This is a photo of a M-4420 I picked up and wanted to show the odd markings on the underside. The top shell has an incuse X, the middle shell has another incuse X along the blue jean seam, and the inner or hidden bottom shell has a small incuse triangle impression that looks to be intentional right on the blue jean seam also. All three markings can be seen in the photo.
