"Big Spring" is one of the best springs in Paria Canyon. Too bad it was 2 miles from our camp! But we passed it several times on day trips. This was one spring I did not hesitate to drink from without filtering. A rivulet of sparkling clean water gushed from a crack at the base of a 1000 sandstone cliff. I learned that water can take thousands of years to percolate through these sandstone formations, before emerging at a spring like this. I felt confident, drinking water that was so thoroughly filtered by mother nature!
