The crossing at Garfield, CA. on the electrified track of the Western Railway Museum near Rio Vista, California. The museum has made an outstanding effort to replicate the former Sacramento Northern Interurban line exactly as it was in 1940. They even operate restored original rail cars and engines that were actually used on this line. Five miles are electrified and the museum owns 22 miles of railroad connecting in Vacaville, CA. Looking at the pole line, I wonder: Anybody know where this museum can get a donation of about 800 brown M-26xx multipart insulators, about the same amount of small brown mud cable tops and around 1000 assorted glass signal and pony insulators.? If so, please contact me for donation information! Photo courtesy www.bayarearailfan.org and www.wrm.org. |
