Lapp 10 inch white porcelain suspension where the ball and socket fittings are reversed. Dustin Logan adds " This particular style was made specifically for line drops to substations. Suspension strings mounted to the substations would often be pointing upside down, aiming up toward a tower. This would essentially defeat the design of the disk, and if the up angle was steep enough, the skirts might even trap water. So this upside-down design was created. I can't say how many of these special models were made. There wasn't much demand, making manufacture impractical. Plus, I believe that special hardware was later invented, which allowed regular suspensions to be mounted in reverse, creating the same effect, at a much lower cost."
