TEXAS & PACIFIC RAILROAD

TEXAS & PACIFIC #610 is shown here at Emory Gap, TN. The big 2-10-4 was leased by the SOUTHERN RAILROAD for it's steam excursion program from 1977 to 1981.

#610 was built in June of 1927 by the LIMA LOCOMOTIVE COMPANY. T&P class I - 1a. Serial #7237.

After serving the SOUTHERN for 4 years, the #610 was returned to Palestine, TX where it is now on static display at the Texas State Railroad Historic Park.
