ILLINOIS CENTRAL GULF GP-10 #8144 basks in the afternoon sun at the ICG freight office track. Located just behind the city square and city hall in Clarksville, TN. #8144 is one of many units that were rebuilt and upgraded by the Illinois Central shops in Paducah, KY. This unit has a chopped nose, horst air filters and Pyle National lights. This engine was originally built in 1956 as ILLINOIS CENTRAL GP-9 #9176 (serial #20814, frame #5409-59).
