A collector has sent me this picture of a British piece embossed MPL. Does anyone know what these letters mean? I've asked around and searched the internet but I've found absolutely nothing. I'm posting this as a last resort in the hope that someone recognises it.

I've been told it's Maithon Power Limited of India.
