This is a new LAPP shield / static wire suspension insulator. Low flash over rating, very high strength M&E rating of 30,000 pounds. This insulator is used to insulate the static / shield wire on HV transmission lines so it can be used for low voltage / frequency relay protection on the transmission line. A very heavy little insulator at 16 pounds!
