Insulator ACSR Hot Wire Tie

Here is a 1949 REA construction specification for Hot tying ACSR (aluminum conductor steel reinforced) conductors. This is but one of many ways to attach the wire to the insulator. Sometimes a similar tie was used on copper wire. The armor rod was used to prevent wear of the wire at the insulator groove.
