NS train 71E sits at Granite City, IL, waiting for a crew to take it on to Ameren's Coffeen power plant at Coffeen, IL. This train comes off the UP, originating in Wyoming's Powder River Basin. The lead engine is a former C&NW, still sporting that paint job 14+ years after being merged into UP. The rebar in the foreground is for the Pontoon Road overpass being built just to the right of the picture. 9/11/2009.
