This is the engine that pulled the coaches on the Marion River Carry Railroad. At the time it ran, it was the shortest railroad in the world. It ran 0.78 miles around the rapids on the Marion River getting people from Raquette Lake to Blue Mountain Lake. The engine is on display at the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, New York. An interesting connection to insulators is that the engine was made by H.K. Porter, the same company that made the plastic replacement insulators in the 60s and 70s.
