I found these small bright orange mushrooms growing by the side of my drive - near where I found teh two previously posted stone artifacts. Back in NH, these would be Chanterelles, which are very good eating, and they grow in similar kinds of locations. These are somewhat brighter orange than the NH versions. I'll post a separate photo of the cluster from which I picked these samples. Better safe than sorry, so I'll hold off until I know for sure. These may be the "Small Chanterelles" with the name of Craterellus ignicolor, in which case they are edible. http://mushroom-collecting.com/mushroomcraterellus.html |
