This beautiful insect has become a massive problem in Ohio and surrounding states. Accidentally imported in from Asia, this beetle bores into ash trees, lays it's eggs and the larvae do the damage. Within 3-5 years after infestation the tree dies. These insects could make the old majestic ash trees another part of history along with the passenger pigeon and the telegraph. This borer I discovered the the local park and our county is one under quarantine.
