An interior shot of British Columbia Electric car 1304. Lots of beautiful wood paneling and real leather seats with reversible backs when changing directions. The car has a unique history, being outfitted as a parlor car for a visiting Duke in 1912, then remodeled back to a normal passenger car where it ran until it caught fire while operating on the line in 1945. Then it was rebuilt again for service until the line quit passenger service in 1954. Then it was saved from the scrap line as a spare car and sold to our museum in 1955. Then pulled in a railroad train to Oregon and our museum, where we operated and maintained it until 1995. And then kept in storage until now trucked back to Canada where it will run on part of it's original route!....Quite a story. Thanks for looking. |
