Here is one of the very top-of-the-line SCA LRIs. The famous Salamander. It is embossed on the skirt on one panel: SALAMANDER/PATENTED. And on the facing panel: JULY 3/1855. This date is in reference to Robert Dwyer's LRI patent. The patent number is: 13,162. Few of these jewels have entered our hobby. I know of five pieces, in four colors. This SCA one has minor olive streaking too. Purchased in the late 1990s. WANTED: Rare glass LRIs.
