When the owner sent a photo of this dark purple Otis LRI, I thought the photo was off, or the LRI was 'treated' in some way. I sent the owner a check, and soon the LRI arrived. When I saw it with my own eyes, I thought it was altered. Later I recalled a 'for sale' ad in Crown Jewels or somewhere that offered a 'burgandy' Otis LRI. That got me to look closer. I now believe this darker purple Otis to be legitimate. It is easily the darkest purple Otis that I have ever seen. Purchased out of New England in the past 10-12 years. Oh, It is embossed on front: OTIS PATENT and on the back 1851
