I came across this piece at the Reno Bottle show in July 2008. The owner (though a bit upset) freely volunteered that it is a suspect piece, and possibly heated to turn this amber color. I believe this to be the same piece that was to be auctioned last spring, but pulled out of the auction because folks on ICON were made aware of it's possible suspect color. I handled this piece for about 10 minutes and have to admit that it had me fooled. About the only thing that looked a bit out of norm to me was the tinge rootbeer in the amber. You be the judge, but for me I'll heed the ole timers warning.
