I wired the 8-foot fixture with a push-button switch from Home Depot. Having on-off switch capabilities is half the fun. You should see the expressions of visitors when I push the magic button and the display leaps to life. The nifty escutcheon plate was procured from eBay. It was a decorative volume knob plate from an old Victrola record player, and, no the hole was not sized perfectly for the push button switch, had to ream it out a little.
