This lighted display is made by encasing an 8-foot long, 2-bulb fluorescent light fixture in wood. A single piece of 3/8" thick milky white acrylic was slid into dados cut into the front and back pieces of wood. The ends of the case are capped off with removable pieces (for access to change bulbs, etc.) The back drop is another piece of white acrylic (un-lit) that mirrors the insulators' reflections, a rather nice effect when the display is lit up which you will see in the next pics.
