Russian Jet Train

An experimental jet-propelled train car from 1971, used two Yakovlev YAK-40 jet engines, and could hit 250 Km/H (160 MPH) on a straightaway. The engines were on the front, so it was pulled along.

Not entirely practical, it was very noisy, smoky and dangerous, but still an interesting concept...
