This old 126.3 is exceptionally well-embossed, but the 'C' in CAUVET looks an awful lot like a 'D'. It has three dates, reading on the back, 'CAUVET' in an arc, then under it, 'PAT', under this, 'JULY 25 1865/JAN 25 1870/FEB 22 1870'. Another interesting and unusual feature here is raised/embossed area in the depth of the wire groove centered between the mold lines on both sides that looks to have been an attempt at a number or letter possibly, these definatly do not appear to be random mold chipping or something similar. Piece is in excellent shape, maybe a surface contact mark or two, and a very light bit of dullness on part of one side for $15 plus $5 shipping. |
