CD 1140 glass guy wire insulator. It is a rare sight to find one of these still cabled up. The cable wrap was done by passing the cable around the ball and then unwinding the strands of the cable on the free end. Each strand was then wrapped around the free end and the tension cable in succession. The end result was an overlapping, tapered cable wrap that wouldn't break or slip. (see next photo)
