Electricity vs. Steam Post Card-1907

This well known promotional photo, extolling the wonders of speedy electrical powered rail travel versus conventional steam power was made into this 1907 color retouched post card. A very fine job, I might add. The caption just about says it all. The interurban car is winning! The New York Central steam kettle on the right is definately not "999". the fastest loco. they owned! Of interest to us insulator collectors is the fact that the photo was taken about a mile northwest of Victor, New York, home of the famous Fred M. Locke and his insulator manufacturing plant. The old 13,200 volt power line looks very much like it is using Fred Locke insulators on tall wooden pins. But, I don't know for sure....I wasn't there!
